Yi Tang 教授目前是加州大學洛杉磯分校 (UCLA) 化學與生物分子工程系的 Ralph M. Parsons Foundation 化學工程講座教授，並同時在化學與生物化學系、生物工程系任職。
Tang 教授是小分子天然藥物合成和酵素設計開發領域的國際知名學者，他的研究成果豐碩且備受肯定。他曾獲得多項殊榮，包括 2025 年 Marvin J. Johnson 微生物與生物化學技術獎 、2022 年美國科學促進會會士 (American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow) 以及 2021 年英國皇家化學學會地平線獎：生物有機化學獎 (Royal Society of Chemistry Horizon Prize: Bioorganic Chemistry Award) 。
